Jinzo

Jinzo [b.1994, Italy] is the artistic name of Samuele Donato, a multidisciplinary artist based in Daverio, in the province of Varese. His work explores themes of personal and social identity through the transformation of sneakers into mask-sculptures that bring symbolic characters to life. His practice investigates the nuances of identity, the masks we wear in everyday life, the value of authenticity, and the loss of self in the search for belonging. Transformation is a central theme in his work: deconstructing in order to rebuild, questioning and renewing individual perception. Recently, he has expanded his artistic language to include sculpture in materials such as bronze and marble—works that embody the weight and permanence of the identities we wear.
